First month in Australia

I am almost a native now that i have hit my first month milestone in Australia.  It has really gone by FAST and looking forward to a fun spring like month of OCT, unlike The States where fall is clearly in control.  Finally feeling settled and have found our new apt home for the last part of our trip. Have found some great trails for biking and my fav so far is the beach road south of downtown which goes maybe as far as Mornington.  Feels like southern california but safer to ride on.

Finally settled on 2 bedroom apt in South bank area not far from where i am at now. If you GOOGLE the address 613/80 Clarendon Street, Southbank 3006 you can zoom in on apt and see the patio we will be throwing parties each weekend while we stay in Australia!!! We are also only 2 blocks to the bike path.  Southbank area is a great spot in Melbourne with lots of places to eat and great people watching.

I have a video to share from my ride along the beach rode south this weekend. Have yet to make contact with community garden in st kilda. I am getting an nasty itch for some tomatos and Joy made me was aware of how many she gave away in my absence.  YIKES.  Weather is just starting to warm up feels like early april.  Black socks and white shorts will be the attire i will introduce to the aussies, hope they don't kick me out when i bend over!!!!  is that a wildabeast? Got many birthday cards from family and shout out to all thanks.
Please mute sound as road noise is significant

Joy had her BIG FRIDA event this weekend and there were a number of very good articles i have posted here about the event.  It was a huge success and when i spoke with her she sounded beat but upbeat.

Busy Week of Travel to Both Perth and Sydney

Finally made it to Perth, but did not dip my toe in the Indian Ocean yet.  Pic of Bill, Jane, Eric, Paul and Barb as we enjoy a great dinner and good conversation on Monday evening.  Paul along with his supervisor team are overseeing our Perth WP delivery.   GOOD LUCK to all of you!

Also went to Sydney from Perth to meet Sensis Lead Team with Stephen, so a busy week flying via QANTAS airlines.  Yes they service full service meals on most flights DAMN !!

Rode both days on weekend with a video clip along the YARRA river showing a cool bike paths right on the river.  NOW that is commitment to bike paths!!!  While many of the trails were under construction and detours were in order the paths are quite nice and well maintained.   Skyped with Jeni and Greg, John B, Joy B and Dave Kittle.   Love Skype.

Also found a route that MIGHT take me close to work so i will research riding bike to work.  I even saw a public veladrom for riding your bike.   Missing my wifey but I know Frida is keeping her busy.  Thanks for the comments and posting.   enjoy the post

Video is along Yarra River bike trail east of downtown Melbourne and the CBD.   Enjoy!!!!

Team in Melbourne

A few pictures of some of the team members in our Clayton (suburb of Melbourne) office

Michelle, Kristal, Jody, Geoff and Stephen. There are others but many on  holiday currently.

Off to Perth and Sydney

Headed to Perth, WA and Sydney NSW for work this week.   Perth is located on the Indian Ocean so i am hoping to put my toe in the water where few can say they have.  A pic of Aussie coins, my typhoid vaccine (in case we go island countries like Bali), Mr Bill as well as a stowaway from CO.

A goathead thorn was in my Tire and the inspection missed it. The bike shop guy said this was a big deal as they have a containment policy to keep things like this from getting into country and spreading.

Rode both days on bike paths and other then riding on the wrong side of path it was great.  Been cool and cloudy here but i have gear to help with that

I will take some video camera on bike next ride.

Pictures of Stephen, Geoff, Michelle, Kristal and Jody in Clayton Office also posted

Cheers
